What are varicose veins taking away from you?
DLG Minimal Medicine ·
A walk you cut short. A plan you turn down. A dress that goes back into the wardrobe.
Sometimes, varicose veins start to take up space in small decisions. Until you begin to organise your day around your legs.
What have you stopped doing because of how your legs feel or look?
When heavy legs start deciding for you
Varicose veins can be accompanied by heaviness, pain, itching or swelling. If this discomfort makes you change your plans, it is worth having it assessed.
You might tell yourself: “It is normal after work.” And end up assuming that every evening you just have to put up with it.
But not all leg discomfort is caused by varicose veins. A consultation helps clarify what is happening and which options make sense for you.
When you choose clothes to hide them
You may walk without discomfort, but change before going out because you do not want to show your legs.
You can talk about that too. Feeling uncomfortable about their appearance is a valid reason to ask for information, without having to justify it with pain.
A consultation does not commit you to treatment.
Understand first. Decide afterwards.
At DLG Minimal Medicine in Palma, we start with what concerns you and what you would like to regain: comfort, peace of mind or the freedom to choose without overthinking it.
A physical examination and, when indicated, a venous duplex ultrasound allow us to study blood flow and check whether venous reflux is present.
We then discuss the options. In some cases, endovenous laser ablation may be considered; in others, sclerotherapy or no intervention. The choice depends on the diagnosis, your preferences, and the benefits and risks of each alternative.
To find out which symptoms deserve assessment and which signs require urgent attention, read when to seek advice about varicose veins.
Start by telling us what they are taking away
You do not need to arrive knowing which treatment you want. You can start with something simpler: “My legs feel heavy” or “I want to stop hiding them.”
You do not need to decide now. Just understand what is happening.
I WANT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING
General information; it does not replace an individual medical assessment.
